Upstate, SC – (October 18, 2024). –This holiday season promises to be brighter, merrier, and more colorful with the return of Magic of Lights. Hollywild Animal Preserve will be transformed into a vibrant drive-through light display, creating unforgettable memories for all, in its 34th year as a family tradition. The festive event opens November 22nd through January 4th. Tickets now on sale!
- Magic of Lights and Hollywild Animal Preserve have partnered together to help the families and local communities affected by Hurricane Helene. Starting TODAY – 50% of the proceeds from Magic of Light tickets sold in the month of October will be donated to The Salvation Army hurricane Helene relief efforts!
Produced by Family Entertainment Live, “Magic of Lights” is making its return to Hollywild Animal Preserve. This enchanting event will showcase dozens of displays, captivating digital animations, and festive favorites like Santas Village. All brought to life with millions of LED lights, while offering the only Holiday light experience with a live animal deer forest.
Guests can experience Magic of Lights’ beloved holiday displays from the comfort of their own vehicle, including Prehistoric Christmas, Winter Wonderland, the 12 Days of Christmas, Toyland, festive Elves, and Reindeer Road. Along with the 200-foot Enchanting Tunnel of Lights, there will be new and captivating light tunnels to enhance the festive journey, a 32-foot-tall animated Mattel’s Waving Christmas Barbie®, and the iconic BIGFOOT® Monster Truck. Visitors can look forward to a magical new addition. Guests will have the chance to walk through and capture their holiday spirit with a special photo op featuring Santa Claus and the GRINCH at Santas Village. Bring your own camera!

- 2+ million lights per Magic of Lights event
- 6 miles of light cord per Magic of Lights event
- 3,750 staff hours to set up each Magic of Lights event
- Steel displays are designed, bent, cut and welded into about 800 frames that are combined in different configurations to create each show’s giant winter holiday scenes. Each scene is designed using the latest CAD technology and hand built in-house from 15 pages of design specifications each.
- Each Magic of Lights show uses about 10 miles of steel to build the displays and 10 miles of LED lighting installed inside the displays, there are 10 different colors of LED bulbs used in the shows.

About Hollywild Animal Preserve
The operation of Hollywild Animal Preserve became a 501(C)(3) Non-Profit Organization, in 1999, in order for the park to meet new challenges and opportunities. Many programs were added, and the park was greatly expanded. At its peak, the park welcomed 150,000 visitors per year and employed dozens of people, many of whom went on to become veterinarians or to further pursue animal related careers. The owners retired in 2015 and shortly thereafter, decided to refocus all their energies and time on enjoying and caring for the animals full time, with the assistance of a small staff. They began operating their facility as an animal Preserve with limited public access. The Magic of Lights, (formerly the Holiday Lights Safari) Benefit, which for three decades has been a local family tradition, still serves as their annual fundraiser. This event is indispensable to ensure the well-being of the 350+ animals still in residence.
